The Life of WILLIAM ROLLIE WARD
Services for William R. Ward, 78, of 2020 E. Twenty-first St., will be at 3 p.m. Thursday at the Hamilton Funeral Home. Burial will be in Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Mr. Ward died Tuesday of a coronary thrombosis at Des Moines General Hospital. He had been ill two years.
Born in Colfax, he was a Des Moines resident 33 years, formerly living in Prairie City. Before his retirement in 1949, he was a custodian at the U.S. Post Office.
He was a member of Community Chapel Open Bible Church.
Surviving are his widow, Ivy; two sons, Vinton of Mitchellville and Reed of Colfax; two daughters, Mrs. Mary Painter of Altoona and Mrs. Helen Cheney of Des Moines; 14 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
