The Life of DONALD SEARS VAN LOON

Donald S Van Loon, 74, of 5811 Franklin Ave, died of a heart ailment Tuesday at Mercy Hospital Medical Center. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Westover Funeral Home, and burial will be in Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery. Mr. Van Loon lived in Des Moines all of his life and retired as owner of a Standard Oil service station. He was a Navy veteral of World War II and a member of the Masonic Lodge and Za-Ga-Zig Shrine. Surviving are his wife, Martha; a son, Robert of Dallas, TX; a brother, Forest of Des Moines; three grandhcildren; and five great-grandchildren. Friends may call after 2 p.m. today at the funeral hoe, where the family will greet friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Shriner's Hospitals for Crippled Children or the Shriner's Burn Centers.
