The Life of WALTER THOMAS MARTIN

Walter Thomas Martin, 65, of the 3800 block of Wolcott Ave. died of a heart ailment Sunday at home.  Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Hamilton's Funeral Home, with burial in Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Mr. Martin lived in Des Moines most of his life.  He had been a police officer and owned Faust Auto Body before retiring.  He was an Army veteran of the Korean War and a member of Eastgate Masonic Lodge and Za-Ga-Zig Shrine.

He is survived by his wife, Margaret; five daughters, Terri Herold and Cindy Martin, both of Des Moines, Lori Mowery of West Des Moines, Becky Overland of Mound, MN, and Deanna Wallace of Smyma, TN; a son, Tom of Des Moines; three sisters, Annie Baker of Apache Junction, AZ, and Cheryl Chevelle and Barb Paul, both of Des Moines; 14 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.  Memorial contributions may be made to InTrust Hospice.
