The Life of CHERYL ELAINE EAKINS

Cheryl Elaine Eakins, 47, of the 600 block of Southwest Miller Avenue died of cancer Saturday at home.  Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Windsor Heights Lutheran Church, of which she was a member.  Burial will be at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Mrs. Eakins was born in Manning and had lived in Des Moines most of her life.  She was a food service worker at Valley High School and enjoyed riding motocycles with others.

She is survived by her husband, Keith Jr.; a son, Matthew, a daughter, Heather Eakins, her father, Bill Russell, and two brothers, Anthony Russell and Wayne Russell, all of Des Moines; and a sister, Mary Snyder of Scottsbluff, NE.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the church.  Memorial contributions may be made to Mercy Hospice.  Southtown Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
