The Life of JESSE JOHN SMITH
Services for Jesse J. Smith, 70, of 4333 Park Ridge, Pleasant Hill, who died of cancer Monday at Veterans Administration Medical Center, will be at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at Hamilton''s Funeral Home. Burial will be in Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Mr. Smith was born in Doon and lived in Des Moines since 1945. He retired in 1978 as an insurance salesman for Independent Order of Forresters. He was a member of Eastgate Masonic Lodge, Eastgate Order of the Eastern Star and Independent Order of Forresters. He was a World War II veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Bernice "Bunny"; two sons, Jerry Logan and Jim Logan, both of Des Moines; three sisters, Evelyn Haan of Fort Myers, FL, Marion Pettingill of Rock Rapids and Frances Skewis of Seattle, WA; two brothers, Arthur of Logan, UT, and Glenn of Seattle, WA; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Friends may call after 2 p.m. until service time today at the funeral home.
