The Life of MARIE WILMA NELSON

Marie W. Nelson, 77, of the 4100 block of Clinton Avenue died of a thoracic aneurysm Thursday at Iowa Methodist Medical Center.  Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Hamilton''s Near Highland Memory Gardens Funeral Home, with burial at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Mrs. Nelson was born in Kanawha and had lived in Des Moines 57 years.  She was a retired registered nurse at Des Moines General Hospital and a member of Union Park Christian Church, Order of the Eastern Star Auburn Chapter and Za-Ga-Zig Shrine Auxiliary in Altoona.  She enjoyed cooking and reading.

She is survived by her husband, Arthur "Wally"; a daughter, Deborah Garvis, and two sons, David and Douglas, all of Des Moines; a sister, Corrine Rosendahl of Columbus, Neb.; and two grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. today at the funeral home.  Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Central Iowa.
