The Life of CARL G ZELIADT

Carl Zeliadt, 84, of Ames died of cancer Wednesday at home. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Adams Funeral Home in Ames, with burial at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery in Des Moines.

Mr. Zeliadt was born near Wick and had lived in Winterset before moving to Ames in 1950. He was a retired registered engineer with the Iowa Department of Transportation and an Army Air Corps veteran Of World War II and an Air Force veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of BPOE, American Legion and Silent Knights Soaring Club. He had received the Charles Taylor Master Mechanic Award from the Federal Aviation Administration and was named to the Iowa Aviation Hall of Fame in 1996.

He is survived by his wife, Iveta; a daughter, Larra Miner of Rapid City, S.C.; a son, Gary of Sioux City; two brothers, Harold of Prole and Francis of Des Moines; a sister, Iris Mae Starkey of Riverside, Calif.; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Friends may call from 6 to 7:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.
