The Life of LEONARD A RHOADS
Leonard A. Rhoads, 79, of 3204 E Ninth St. died of cancer Tuesday at home. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Highland Park Presbyterian Church, of which he was a member. Burial will be at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Mr. Rhoads was a lifelong resident of Des Moines. He was the retired owner of Len Rhoads Business Forms and was an Army Veteran of World War II. He was a member of the Des Moines Club of Printing House Craftsmen and the Downtown Optimist Club.
Survivors include his wife, Thelma; three sons, Dennis of Redondo Beach, CA, Stephen of Des Moines, and Richard of Hopewell Junction, NY; a brother, Howard of Oelwein; a sister, Helen Lewellin of Des Moines; eight grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and five step-great-grandchildren.
Friends may call after 2 p.m. today at Hamilton''s Near Highland Memory Gardens Funeral Home, where the family will be present from 6 to 8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Highland Park Presbyterian Church or Hospice of Central Iowa.
