The Life of MARY JANE RIDDLE VOS
Mary Jane Riddle Vos, 76, passed away October 13, 2003 at Iowa Lutheran Hospital after a brief illness. She was born February 19, 1927 in Des Moines, Iowa to Charles Wesley Riddle and Jenny Cogley.
She married Dean Vos on July 4, 1948 and they just celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary before he passed away on July 10, 2003.
She is preceded in death by her husband; two grandsons, Tim Neatherry and KD Vos; her son-in-law, Bob Neatherry; her parents; two sisters, Caroline Mikesell and evelyn Riddle; and three brothers, John, Joseph and Charles Riddle.
She is survived by one son, Sam Vos of Mitchellville; two daughters, Haroldine Neatherry of Lowell, AR, and Betty Jo Hobbs of Mitchellville; granchildren, Becky Courtney, Christina Vos, Sherry Neatherry, Jacky Vos, Bill Hobbs, Nick Vos, James Hobbs and Jessica Hobbs; and great-grandchildren, Bradley, Emily, Taylor, Morgan, Sydney and Jacob. She is also survived by a brother, Harold Riddle; sisters, Katherine Chapman, Geraldine Rhodes, Hazel Seiberling, Gloria Storey, Janet spevack and Gladys Luker; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. All who will miss her greatly.
She spent the majority of her life as a homemaker and mother-working briefly at LB Price and Iowa Methodist Hospital. She was also past president of the Senior Citizens Group in Mitchellville.
Services will be held 1 p.m. Friday, October 17 at Hamilton's Funeral Home on Lyon Street, with burial in Highland Memory Gardens. There will be a visitation from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
