The Life of ELSIE K JOHANSEN
Elsie Johansen, 71, of 2402 N Union St. died of cancer Thursday at home. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Luther Memorial Church, of which she was a member. Burial will be at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Mrs. Johansen was born in Des Moines and returned in 1958. She retired after 10 years at the book store at Grandview College and was a member of the East High Alumni Association.
Among survivors are her husband, Christian; two daughters, Marilyn Coates of Wilmington, DE; and Janet Hockey of Des Moines; two sons, Robert of Moreno Valley, CA, and Gary of Los Angeles; three brothers, Donald Olsen of Rochester, MN; and Berger Olsen and Harold Olsen, both of Des Moines; a sister, Mary Riber of Des Moines; and 12 grandchildren.
Friends may call from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Dahlstrom''s Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Central Iowa or her church.
