The Life of WILLIAM GUY SPURGIN
Services for William Spurgin, 58, of 805 Grandview Ave., who died of cancer Friday at Mercy Hospital Medical Center, will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Dahlstrom Funeral Home. Burial will be in Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Born in Warren County, he spent most of his life in Des Moines. Mr. Spurgin, who was in the Merchant Marine in World War II, was self-employed at the Hull Avenue Tap.
Survivors include his wife, Betty; two sons, Lon of Fort Madison and Dave of Estherville; and two grandchildren.
Friends may call between 3 and 9 p.m. today at the funeral home. The family suggests that any memorial contributions be made to the cancer fund.
