The Life of PAUL EVERETT FREEMAN

Paul Everett Freeman, 77, of 1131 Clinton Ave. died of cancer Friday at Veterans Medical Center.  Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Mr. Freeman was born in Osceola and had lived there and in Chariton before moving to Des Moines in 1939.  He was a retired conductor for Chicago-Northwest Railroad and a Navy veteran.  He was a member of Epworth United Methodist Church and United Transportation Union.

Survivors include his wife, M. Lenore; a son, Mike; and a daughter, Judy Suttor, both of Des Moines; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Hamilton''s Near Highland Memory Gardens Funeral Home.

I remember when I was younger and papa would mow the grass. If he found a snake he would kill it and hang it on his fence to warn the other snakes that his yard was not a place to be.
