The Life of WAYNE L ANDERSON

Wayne L. Anderson, 75, of Altoona, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 6, 2005, at Taylor Hospice House. Funeral services will be Wednesday, March 9 at 10 am at the Lutheran Church of the Cross in Altoona. Burial is in Highland Memory Gardens.

Wayne was born April 15, 1929 in Des Moines. in 1953, he married Barbara Butler of Bondurant. He lived in the Altoona area all of his life. He served on the Altoona-Bondurant Farmers Elevator board, was a Mason and a member of the Altoona Chamber of Commerce. Wayne's favorite pastime was telling stories, spending quality time with family. He had a milk route, farmed and worked as a mechanic at the Iowa State Fair.

Wayne is survived by his wife, Barbara and three children, Cindy (Roger) Peecher of Pollock, MO; Karl (Nancy) Anderson, and Nancy (Brent) Curry, both of Altoona; eight grandchildren, Carrie (Mike) Koenig, Jason Peecher, Robert (Nicole) Phillips, Courtney Salazar, Kevin Anderson, Nora Anderson, Jessica Curry and Tyler Curry; five great-grandchildren; sisters, Viola Peterson of Lakeland, FL and Helen Warren of Altoona; and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Linda Phillips-Swartzlander; his parents; his mother, Alice Shipp; and brother, Everett and Roy Anderson.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 pm Tuesday, March 8 at the Altoona Hamilton's Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to InTrust Hospice Taylor House, Lutheran Church of the Cross or Rising Sun Church of Christ.
