The Life of JOHN SCHOCK

John Schock, 94, died April 5, 2003 of heart failure at Iowa Jewish Home.  Funeral services will be at Hamilton''s Near Highland Memory Gardens Funeral Home, Saturday, 12:00 noon.

John was born in Lowry, SD.  He served with the 14th Horse Cavalry at Fort Des Moines from 1930-1939 and later retired from the US Army.  John was awared a Coin of Excellence from General B.B. Bell for outstanding military service.  He was a member of Epworth United Methodist Church, Highland Park American Legion Post 374 and 14th Calvery Assocation.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Leona.  His family included his daughter, Nancy Hoover and her husband Bill of Onawa, IA; son, Bob Schock and his wife, Terry of Des Moines; 6 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.  Memorial gifts may be given to Epworth United Methodist Church.
