The Life of GARNETT ELLSWORTH ALEXANDER

Services for Garnett Alexander, 76, of 1307 Bundy St., who died of cancer Tuesday at his home, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Southtown Funeral Home. Burial will be in Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery. Mr. Alexander was born in Oklahoma and was a Des Moines resident the past 43 years. He was retired from Meredist Corp. and was a member of Fort Des Moines Open Bible Church. He was a World War II Army veteran. Survivors include his wife, Eva; two sons, David of Elgin, Ill., and Larry of Des Moines; one stepson, Gary Randall of Saudi Arabia, one stepdaughter, Ruby Wood of San Jose, Calif.; three sisters, Edna Schegel of Ness City, Kan., Ellen Holmes of Buckley, Wash., and Florence Arnhart of Jerome, Idaho; seven stepgrandchildren; and four stepgreat-grandchildren. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Central Iowa. Friends may call from noon until 9 p.m. Friday at Southtown Funeral Home.
