The Life of VERNA G POND
Verna G Pond, 85, of Waddell, AZ, died of Alzheimer''s disease Saturday at Thunderbird Sanaritan Hospital in Phoenix, AZ. Services will be graveside at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Mrs. Pond lived in Des Moines all her life until moving to Arizona four years ago. She retired as as seamstress from Champion Gove Co.
Surviving are a son, Victor Johnson of Waddell; a daughter, Betty Ayres of Lyndonville, VT; a brother, Harold Cox of Huxley; 10 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
The family will visit with friends from 6 to 9 p.m. today at Hamilton''s Near Highland Memory Gardens Funeral Home.
