The Life of SEARL COX

Searle Cox, 85, of 420 NW Fifty-second St, a retired shipping clerk for C.L. Percival Co., died of pneumonia at Broadlawns Polk County Hospital Sunday night after a one-month illness. He was born in Mediapolis, lived in Burlington and came to Des Moines 58 years ago. He was a member of Saylorville Baptist Church. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Saylorville Baptist Church with burial in Highland Memory Gardens. Survivors are his wife, Katie L.; two daughters, Mrs. Hazel Wilkie of Sacramento, CA, and Mrs. Verna Pond of Des Moines; a son, Harold of Des Moines; five grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
