The Life of ELLSWORTH L JOHNSON

Services for Ellsworth L. "John" Johnson, 55, of 2831 Forst Dr., who died of a heart ailment Friday at home, will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Hamilton''''s Funeral Home. Burial will be in Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery. Mr. Johnson was employed by the Iowa Development Commission for 14 years and was its assistant director when he retired in 1973 following a heart attack. He had traveled extensively for the commission, planning and executing Iowa trade missions to Europe, the Orient and Latin America during the administrations of governors Harold Hughes and Robert Ray. He was a veteran of World War II, having served with the Army in the Philippines. He was graduated from Drake University with a bachelor''''s degree in business administration. Survivors include his wife, Juanita; three sons, Marc of Davenport, and Scott and Brett, both of Des Moines; his mother, Edna Johnson of Des Moines; two sisters, Marie Preston of Clear Lake and JoAnn Keiran of Des Moines; and three grandchildren. The family suggests that any memorial contributions be made to Iowa Methodist Medical Center. Friends may call until the service at the funeral home.
