The Life of JOHN M HAMMOND
John M. Hammond, 57, of 624 Douglas Ave. died of a heart ailment Tuesday at Iowa Methodist Medical Center. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Capitol City Baptist Church, of which he was a member. Burial will be at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Mr. Hammond was born in Albia and lived in Des Moines most of his life. He was the leader for the Medical and Services Information Systems Team for the Department of Human Services.
Among survivors are his wife, Barbara; a son, John of Urbandale; a daughter, Chris Hanson of Des Moines, and a grandchild.
The fmaily will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Southtown Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to his church.
