The Life of BETTE V SMITH
Bette V. Smith, 67, of 1325 NW 67th Pl died of cancer Friday at Sunnyview Care Center in Ankeny. A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Hamilton''s Near Highland Memory Gardens Funeral Home. The body was cremated. Interment of cermains will be in Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Mrs. Smith was born in Leon, KS and lived in Des Moines since 1961. She was a homemaker and a member of Order of Eastern Star and Questers Group.
Surviving are her husband, Eugene "Bill"; a son, Reg R. of Des Moines; her mother, Emma Barnhill of Wichita, KS; a sister, Patty Bale of Eldorado, KS; and two grandchildren.
The family will meet with friends before the service from noon to 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be mae to Westkirk Evangelical Presbyterian Church or Hospice of Central Iowa.
