The Life of GRANVILLE C SHAW
Granville "Granny" Shaw, 86, of the 400 block of Southeast Delaware Avenue, Ankeny, died of a heart ailment Sunday at home. The body will be cremated, and memorial services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Ankeny Funeral Home. Burial of the cremains will be at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Mr. Shaw was born in Des Moines and had lived here until moving to Ankeny in 1966. He had been a procurement officer with the US Postal Service and was an Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of Spiritual Frontiers Fellowship and National Association of Retired Federal Employees. He enjoyed dancing and fishing.
He is survived by two sisters, Gabrielle Jones of Tempe, AZ, and Gertrude Green of Clive; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen.
