The Life of ARTHUR JAMES COX

Arthur Cox, 88, died Monday, November 24, 2008, in Tucson, AZ.  He was born December 12, 1919 to Stella Mae and Archie V. Cox in Des Moines.

He served in the United States Army during WWII and Korea until his honorable discharge in October of 1945.

Arthur was a draftsman for Rowat Cut Stone and a member of Highland Park Presbyterian Church.  He enjoyed square dancing, wood working, traveling and he was an avid Hawkeye fan.

Surviving members of his family include, his sister, Ettamay Cox; brothers, Norman (Marlene) Cox, Don (Charlotte) Cox, Mervin (Betty) Cox, Richard Cox, Eugene (Susan) Cox; LeRoy (Mary Jo) Cox; and special friend, Nell Jensen of Arizona.  Arthur was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret, parents and four brothers.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, December 4, 2008 at Hamilton''s Near Highland Memory Gardens Funeral Home, 121 NW 60th Ave., with burial to follow at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery. 

Friends may visit with family one hour prior to service time at the funeral home.
