The Life of EDWARD JOSEPH HANS

Edward J Hans, 83, of the 3400 block of Second Avenue died of pneumonia Sunday at Union Park Health Services in Des Moines. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at All Saints Catholic Church, of which he was a member. Burial will be at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery. Mr. Hans was born in Vencennes, IN and had lived in Des Moines most of his life. He was a retired typesetter with The Des Moines Register and Tribune, a member of Iowa Association for the Deaf and the Des moines Register Retirees Club. He enjoyed family activities and building modle trains. He is survived by his wife, Theda; two daughters, Catherine Olson of Prole and Rayanne Porter of DeSoto; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Calwell-Raddatz Funeral Home and Crematory, where a rosary will be said at 7 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to his church, the Heart Association or the Diabetes Association.
