The Life of CORNELIUS O SHERMAN

Cornelius O. Sherman, 79, passed away Friday, December 2, 2005 at home.  Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, December 7, 2005 at St. Joseph''s Catholic Church.  Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. with a Vigil Service at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday at Hamilton''s near Highland Memory Gardens.

Cornelius was born, April 10, 1926, in Wesley, Iowa to Henry and Martha Sherman.  He served in the US Army during WWII.  Cornelius was a lineman with Northwestern Bell for 38 years until his retirement in 1985.  He was a member of Knights of Columbus and past president of the Communciations Workers of America.

Cornelius is survived by his wife Barbara; daughter, Susan (Randy) Greenwood of Des Moines; four sons, Mark Sherman of Des Moines, Kelly Sherman of Des Moines, Rodney Sherman of Portland, Maine and Shawn (Cheryl) Sherman of Des Moines; two sisters, Delores Egan of Castro Valley, CA, and Wanda Dudek of Littleton, CO; brother, Delmar Sherman of Dubuque, IA; four grandchildren, Brad (Julia) Sherman, Jessica, Nicole and Brandon Greenwood.  He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Mary and Virginia; and brothers, Duane, Don and Tom.
