The Life of ELLEN M WALKER

Ellen M. Walker, 45, of the 2600 block of East Sheridan Avenue died of breast cancer Monday at home.  Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Evangelical Covernant Church, of which she was a member.  Burial will be in Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Mrs. Walker was born in Mason City and had lived there and in Clear Lake before moving to Des Moines, where she had lived most of her life.  She was a retired lab technician with Des Moines General Hospital and enjoyed flower gardening, family activities, her church and traveling.

She is survived by her husband, Gerald; a son, Mike Ingersoll of Lubbock, TX; a daughter, Sarah Ingersoll of Des Moines; a stepdaughter, Debora Todey of Newton; two stepsons, Steve and Scott, both of Des Moines; her parents, Pearl and George Simkins of Clear Lake; three sisters, Sue Loucks of Des Moines, Karen Huntley of Grimes and Tami Hersom of Huxley; her grandmother, Leona Klemensen of Mason City; and two grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the church.  Memorial contributions may be made to her church or the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.  Hamilton''s Near Highland Memory Gardens Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
