The Life of STANFORD F RALEIGH
The Rev. Stanford F. Raleigh, 76, of 1533 SE Creston Ave. died of cancer Monday at Iowa Methodist Medical Center. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Hamilton''s Funeral Home. Burial will be in Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.
The Rev. Raleigh was born in St. Cloud, MN, and had lived in Des Moines since 1943. He was minister of Southtown Pentecostal Church, an Army veteran of World War II and chaplain of Veterans of Foreign Wars post 738.
Among survivors are his wife, Dorris, four sons, Bryant, Timothy, Daniel and Jon, all of Des Moines; two daughters, Nancy Kurtz of Naples, FL, and Sandra Fear of Malibu, CA; a brother, Gordon of Storm Lake; a sister, Ruth Bonilla of Palo Alto, CA; 18 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Friends may call after 11 a.m. today at the funeral home, where the family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to his church.
