The Life of CHESTER G JOHNSON
Chester G Johnson, 87, of Chariton died of a heart ailment Mondy at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Fielding Funeral Home in Chariton. Graveside services will be at 2:30 p.m. Thursday at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery in Des Moines.
Mr. Johnson was born in Hines and had lived in Des Moines before moving to Chariton seven years ago. He had been a delivery driver with Harvest Bakery Co. and worked for Firestone Tire and Rubber Co. in Des Moines. He was a member of Community of Christ Church, Lions Club and Williamson Historical Society.
He is survived by his wife, Alice; a son, Chet R. of Buhler, KS; two brothers, Gene and Herman, both of Williamson; six grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
