The Life of CLARK DEWAINE SUMMERS

Clark was born August 3, 1960 at Monticello, Iowa to Stanley and Dorothy (Hedgecock) Summers.  He was raised and educated in the Manchester area, graduating from West Delaware High School in 1978.  He served in the US Marine Corp from 1978 until 1982.  Clark did construction work over the years.  He has currently been residing in Manchester.

Clark died after a massive heart attack Tuesday morning, February 19, 2002 at the Henry County Health Center in Mt. Pleasant.  He was forty-one years of age.

Clark will be remembered as one who enjoyed fishing, snowmobiling, and spending time in the mountains.  He did a great deal of traveling between Iowa and the west coast.

Survivors include his mother, Dorothy Schnittjer of Manchester; one sister, Kathy (Larry) Fair of Muscatine; one brother, Craig (Michelle) Summers of Cedar Rapids; paternal grandmother, Thelma Summers of Manchester; and four nieces and nephews.

Clark was preceded in death by his father, Stanley Summers in 1967; his paternal grandfather, John Summers; maternal grandparents, Challice "Slim" and Mary Hedgecock; step-father, Merle Schnittjer; step-grandmother, Hertha Schnittjer; and an uncle, Albert Summers.
