The Life of RAYMOND C OWENS

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Hamilton's Funeral Home for Raymond C Owens, 53, of 1325 Seneca Ave., who died of a heart ailment Thursday at Veterans Hospital. Burial will be in Highland Memory Gardens. A Leon native, Mr. Owens moved to Des Moines 30 years ago. A retired meat trimmer, he was a special Polk County deputy sheriff, a World War II veteran and a member of McHenry Brewer American Legion Post. Survivors include his wife, Helen; a stepson, Martin J Miner of Des Moines; a step-daughter, Mrs. Carol Hood of San Francisco; two sisters, Mrs. Frances Ward and Mrs. Darlene Ward, both of Kansas City; a brother, Ernest of Bouton; and his mother, Mrs. Alta Vinzant of Upton, Wyo.
