The Life of SHANNON PATRICK OCONNOR JR

Shannon P. O''Connor, Jr., 21, of the 3800 block of Woodland Ave, West Des Moines, died of asphyxiation Monday at home.  The death has been ruled a suicide.  Services will be at noon today at Highland Park Presbyterian Church, with burial at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Mr. O''Connor was born in Des Moines and had lived in the area all his life.  He was a sales associate with Pro Image and an avid sports fan. He enjoyed baseball, basketball, soccer and the outdoors.

He is survived by his mother and step-father, Jodi and Brian Hildreth of Des Moines; his father and step-mother, Pat and Tammy O''Connor of Alleman; four sisters, Aimee O''Connor and Taylor Hildreth, both of Des Moines, Natalee Pierce of Mingo and Brittney O''Connor of Alleman; a brother, Mitchell Hildreth of Des Moines; his grandparents, Carolee O''Connor and Charlene and Harold Hildreth, all of Ankeny, and Vonna and Larry Akers of DeSoto, WI; and his great-grandparents, Elsie Myers of Belmond, Doris White of Ankeny and Wilma Dale of Des Moines.

His companion was Melissa Lehman of Des Moines.

The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the time of services today at the church.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Shannon P. O''Connor, Jr. Memorial Fund.
