The Life of RUTH E DENNIS
Ruth Dennis, 86, of the 3900 block of 68th Street, Urbandale, died of a respiratory ailment Saturday at home. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Merle Hay Funeral Home, with burial at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Mrs. Dennis was born in New Sharon and had lived in Urbandale most of her life. She had worked in the mailroom of American Republic Insurance and was a charter member of Valley United Methodist Church. She was an avid Iowa State Fair supporter and enjoyed dancing.
She is survived by four daughters, Bonnie Constant of Urbandale, Arlene Spencer of Des Moines, Betty Reynolds of Norwalk, and Carolyn Holcomb of Hamilton, IL; two sisters, Wilma Lane and Marcella Lane, both of Newton; 11 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph.
Friends may call from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. today at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Central Iowa or her church.
