The Life of DENNY M SIMON
Denny Simon, 53, of 1505 Andrews Drive, Pleasant Hill, died of cancer Thursday at Mercy Hospital Medical Center. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Joseph''s Catholic Church, of which he was a member. Burial will be at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Mr. Simon, a lifelong Des Moines area resident, was owner of Simon Backhoe Service Inc., an Army veteran and member of the Elks Club.
He is survived by his wife, Linea; a son, Michael of Pleasant Hill; two brothers, Ernest of Des Moines and Joseph of Kansas City, MO; a half brother, Gary Staples of Kansas City; five sisters, Ida Houston Barnes of West Des Moines; Romona Brown of Bondurant, Sherry Waddell of Anita, Mary Jo Wright of Coralville and Duann Fisher of Arkansas; and a grandchild.
Friends may call after 3 p.m. today at Iles Grandview Park Funeral Home, where a vigil service will be held at 4 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to his church.
