The Life of LEO ERVINE WALLACE

Leo E. Wallace, 69, of 2429 E Tiffin Ave. died of a respiratory ailment Monday at Iowa Lutheran Hospital.  Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Hamilton''''s Near Highland Memory Gardens Funeral Home, with burial at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Mr. Wallace was born in Weldona, CO, and had lived in Des Moines most of his life.  He was a retired pressman for the Meredith Corp., was a Navy veteran of World War II, and was a member of the East High Alumni Association, the Veterans of Foreign Wars, the Izaak Walton League, the Graphic Communications International Union and the Grandview Lutheran Church.

He is survived by his wife, Marcella; a son, Robert of Des Moines, a daughter, Linda Wallace of Des Moines; six sisters, Bessie Wallace, May Davis and Jewell Davis, all of Des Moines; Gail McDaniel and Geneva Ballard, both of San Diego, and Iva Grissman of Los Angeles; and three grandchildren.

Friends may call after 3 p.m. today at the funeral home, where the family will be present from 3 to 4 p.m. and also from 6 to 8 p.m.  Memorial contriubtions may be made to his church or the American Diabetes Association.
