The Life of ROBERT JOSEPH BLACKMAN
Robert J Blackman, 72, of the 3200 block of Grand Avenue died of a heart ailment Tuesday at home. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Westover Funeral Home, with burial at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Mr. Blackman was born in Denison and had lived in Des Moines most of his life. He was a self-employed painter.
Survivors include a daughter, Becky McMillen of Waukee; a son, Robert Jr. of Seattle; three sisters, Marianne Clark of Irwin, Jean Bauer of Denison and Irene Kleppinger of Jewell, KS; and two brothers, Clarence of Baltimore and Myron of Houston.
The family will greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Iowa School for the Deaf.
