The Life of CLAUDE ALBERT CARLSON

C.A. (Al) Carlson, 81, of Route No 1 Ankeny, died of a heart ailment Saturday at Iowa Lutheran Hospital after a month''s illness. A native of Des Moines, Mr. Carlson had lived in Polk County his entire life. He had lived 46 years in Ankney and was a retired farmer. He was a member of Saylorville Community Church. Services will be at 3 p.m. MOnday at Dahlstrom''s Funerla Home, with burial at Highland Memory Gardens. Surviving are his wife, Edna Mae; seven daughters, Mrs. Charles Cox, Mrs. Harvey Kempton, Mrs. Raymond Quick, and Mrs. Robert Quick of Des Moines, Mrs. Tom Gilbert, Christina Carlson and Mrs. John Lundstrom of Ankeny; three sons, Alva and Kenneth Carlson of Ankeny, and Vernon Carlson of Kansas City, MO. Also surviving are four brothers, Harry Carlson of Winner, SD, Francis Carlson of Truro; Fred Carlson of Des Moines, and Charles Carlson of Ankeny; three sisters, Mrs. Effie Banning, Mrs. Lillian McIntosh and Iva Carlson all of Ankeny, 24 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
