The Life of IRENE OPAL FARRELL

Irene Opal Farrell, 95, passed away on Tuesday, March 14, 2006.  Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, March 18 at Simpson United Methodist Church, 2600 Capitol, with visitation one hour prior to the service.  Interment will follow at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Irene was born January 1, 1911 to William Harrison Garmon and Pearl Mae (Fogler) Garmon.   She graduated from East High School in 1928 and was a Civil Servant during WWII.  Irene retired from the State of Iowa Commerce Commission, Utilities Division.  She was a born-again Christian woman and lifelong member of Simpson United Methodist Church, and enjoyed playing Canasta with her family.  Irene's first husband was Daniel "Bus" Byers with one daughter, Marilyn M. (Byers) Daniels.  Irene's second husband was Louis J. Frost with one daughter Patricia L. (Frost) Harvey.  Irene's third husband was DeLain W. Farrell with one daugher, Karen Denise Farrell. She is survived by her daughters, Patricia and Karen, as well as her grandchildren, Sandra (Daniels) Sutter, Julie (Daniels) Wise, Steven E Daniels, Thomas Dylan Harvey, Aaron Conrad Harvey and Kristina M. (Farrell) Milbach; and six great-grandchildren, Brooke Sutter, Sara and Christopher Wise, Ian, James and Gillian Daniels.  She was preceded in death by her husbands and daughter.
