The Life of PEARL M MERCER
Pearl M. Mercer, 89, of Woodbury West Health Care Center, 1211 Vine St., West Des Moines, died of pneumonia and a heart ailment Thursday at Charter Community Hospital. Services will be at 10 a.m. today at Gospel Assembly Church, of which she was a member. Burial will be in Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Mrs. Mercer was born in Brooksville, Fla., and had lived in Des Moines since 1969, retiring from the Iowa Methodist Medical Center dietary department.
She is survived by a son, Jimmie, three daughters, Dorothy Wilkerson, Juanita Brening and Beatrice McCullen, and a sister, Cora Osthoeff, all of Florida; 22 grandchildren; 46 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
Friends may call from 8 to 9 a.m. at Hamilton''s Near Highland Memory Gardens Funeral Home and from 9 a.m. until service time at the church, to which memorial contributions may be made.
