The Life of KEVIN BYRON PHILIPS
Kevin Philips, 40, of the 6700 block of Northwest Fourth Street died Saturday at injuries suffered in a hunting accident in Monroe County. Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Bethany Reformed Church. Burial will be in Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Mr. Philips was born in Seattle and had lived in Des Moines all his life, He was a recruiting training manager with Nesbit Distributing and had coached basketball, football and baseball with the Saydel School system. He enjoyed the outdoors and aviation.
He is survived by his wife, Traci; two sons, Chris Philips and Mat Hodson, his father and stepmother, Klaus and Peggy Rasmussen, and a sister, Kathy Philips, all of Des Moines; a brother, Brian of Perry; and his grandmother, Ruth Roush of Des Moines.
The family will receive friends from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. today at Hamilton''s Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to Saydel Little Leage.
