The Life of IRA SKINNER

Services for Ira Skinner, 73, of 1335 Buchanan St., who died of a heart ailment Wednesday at his home after a six-month illness, will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Hamilton Funeral Home.  Burial will be in Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Before retiring in 1959, Mr. Skinner was an employee of the Des Moines Independent School District 33 years, and had served as custodian at Phillips and Amos Hiatt Schools.

Born at Auburn, he came from Lamoni to Des Moines 52 years ago.

Surviving are his widow, Vinnie; five daughters, Mrs. Dorothy Yates, Mrs. Bonnie LaBarr, Mrs. Betty Keil and Mrs. Shirley Tester of Des Moines and Mrs. Ruth Wescott of Freeport, IL; four sons, Robert E., John N. and W. Paul of Des Moines and Ira, Jr., of Storm Lake; a brother, Levi of Tulsa, OK; 27 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

The family suggests memorial contributions to the building fund of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, of which Mr. Skinner was a member.
