The Life of FRANCIS MARION BAILEY
Francis M. Bailey, 69, of the 2700 block of Logan Avenue died of a respiratory ailment Thursday at home. Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Hamilton''s Funeral Home, with burial at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Mr. Bailey was born at West Grove and had lived in Des Moines most of his life. He had worked as a lumber foreman at Wheeler Lumber Co. before retiring. He had served in the Naval Reserve. He enjoyed woodworking and fishing.
He is survived by his wife, Janet; two sons, Steve of Tucson, Ariz., and Mike of Des Moines; two daughters, Sherry Bailey of Des Moines and Shelley Backstrom of Windsor Heights; two brothers, David of Winterset and Dennis of Des Moines; a sister, Patty Poindexter of Indianola; and nine grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Central Iowa.
