The Life of HELEN J ADKINS
Helen J Adkins, 71, of 1010 Franklin Ave. died of cancer Friday at Mercy Hospital Medical Center. Services will be at 9 a.m. Tuesday at Hamilton''s Funeral Home. Burial will be in Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Mrs. Adkins was born in Ankeny and had lived in Polk City before moving to Des Moines 45 years ago. She retired as a cook for Farmers Mutual Hail Insurance Co. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Womens Circle of the church, Salvation Army Home League and Friendship Chain at Westover Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Wilburn; two sons, Jerry Lee of Polk City and Wilburn Jr. of Des Moines; a daughter, Mary Kloster of Carlisle; two sisters, Frances Kruse of Redding, CA, and Jennie Tscherter of Ankeny; 11 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
Friends may call after 3 p.m. today at the funeral home.
