The Life of BERNICE M WAY
Mrs. Bernice M Way, 57 of 3420 E Washington Ave. died of cancer Tuesday at Mercy Hospital.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Grandview Park Baptist Church, with burial in Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Mrs. Way was born in Buckhorn, IL and lived in Des Moines most of her life. A cafeteria employee at Woodrow Wilson Junior High School, she was a member of the Order of Eastern Star.
Survivors include her husband, William E; a son, William F of Des Moines; two daughters, Sharon Slagle and Cathy Steiner, both of Des Moines; her mother, Clara Stapleton of Mount Sterling, IL, and seven grandchildren.
The family suggests memorial contributions to Grandview Park Baptist Church, of which Mrs. Way was a member.
