The Life of GARY WAYNE BECKMAN
Gary Beckman, 66, died Thursday, October 15, 2009 at Bright Kavanagh House in Des Moines. Gary was born on October 9, 1943 to Willard and Ellen Beckman in Des Moines.
Gary was a member of Cross Point United Methodist Church in Bondurant. He was a truck driver for most of his life and enjoyed fishing, riding his Harley, and drag racing. Gary especially loved hanging out with his family and friends.
Gary is survived by his loving wife, Diana; children, Wesley and Troy Beckman; step-children, Tammy (Casey) Simpson, Darwin (Michelle) Geyer, Joel Geyer, Marla (James) Fowler; 15 grandchildren; siblings, Russ (Lisa) Beckman and Jan (Ron) Sprauge. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be held at 12 p.m. Monday, October 19, 2009 at Hamilton's near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Ave., with burial to follow at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
