The Life of VERNA ROSE KENNELLEY
Verna R. Kennelley, 65, of 3918 S.W.13th St. died of a heart ailment Sunday at home. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, of which she was a member. Burial will be in Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Mrs. Kennelley was born in Riceville and moved to Des Moines from Cresco in 1946. She formerly worked for the Veterans Administration and had been a member of Order of the Eastern Star Pioneer Lodge.
Surviving are her husband, William; a son, Tom of San Angelo, Texas; a daughter, Kathleen Bietz of Raleigh, N.C.; a brother, Eugene Engelhardt of Homestead, Fla.; two sisters, Eva Lou Engelhardt of Des Moines and Grace McMahan of Ephrata, Wash.; and two grandchildren.
Friends may call after 5 p.m. today at Southtown Funeral Home, where the family will meet friends from 7:30 to 9 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to her church.
