The Life of VERNON G GOODWIN
Vernon G. Goodwin, 60, of 4635 72nd St., Urbandale, died of cancer Saturday at Iowa Methodist Medical Center. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Gospel Assembly of God Church of which he was a member and Senior Pastor. Burial will be at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.
The Rev. Goodwin was born in Evansvile, IN, and had lived in Des Moines many years.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Lou; three sons, Glenn of Urbandale, Phillip of Des Moines, and Jonathan of Johnston; a daughter, Karen White of Urbandale; a brother, Nathan of Grimes, and a sister, Audrey Goodwin-Werling of Urbandale.
The family will receive friends after 5 p.m. today and after 3 p.m. Monday at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to his church. Arrangements are being handled by Hamilton''s Funeral Home.
