The Life of LORRAINE OLIVE TINGLEY BREWER

Lorraine O. Brewer was born June 11, 1935 and died June 23, 2009. She was born in Chicago and moved to Des Moines around 1964. She worked many wonderful jobs until retiring, providing opportunities to share her spirit with many. She loved maple donuts from Casey's as well as all sweets. Wearing her jewelry and having her hair and nails done gave her great joy. Lorraine also loved to wear bright colored clothing and play cards with family and friends. She was a collector of many things especially oriental figurines. Her family and friends loved her as much as she loved them. She lived a full life of love and joy, traveling all over, her favorite places were Las Vegas and Hawaii. She was a unique woman who loved everyone and who was loved by everyone. She is preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and special friend Roy. She is survived by daughter, Kim (Rod) Jones; grandchildren, Emily (Dennis) McMahon, Mike (Patty) Jones, Tammy (Mike) Bernard, and Belinda (Doug) Hood; nine great-grandchildren, and many other family, friends and loved ones. She was a tribute to a kind, caring and compassionate spirit, and will be sorely missed by all. Funeral services will be held at 10 am Saturday, June 27, at Hamilton's near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue. Visitation will be held from 4 to 6:30 pm Friday at the funeral home. >>
