The Life of GEORGIA MAE HAMPTON
Georgia Hampton, 90, passed away Thursday, December 30, 2010 at SunnyBrook Care Center. Private memorial graveside services will be held at a later date at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Georgia was born and raised in Des Moines and graduated from East High School in 1937. She was a homemaker and enjoyed gardening, antiques, and collecting everything. Georgia loved her cats, especially MissTiger. She many years caring for her ill family members.
Georgia is survived by her husband, Dick Hampton, sons, Dennis (Pat) Reed of Urbandale and William Reed of Sarasota, FL., grandson, Matthew (Kristin) Reed of Waukee and two great-grandchildren, Sophia and Hunter Reed. She was preceded in death by her parents, Fredrick and Beatrice Painter and her sisters, Mildred Palmer, Ruth Harvey and Helen King.
Memorials may be directed to the Animal Rescue League of Iowa.
