The Life of CHARLES EVERETT BRYAN
Charles Bryan, 81, was born December 12, 1927 to Charles and Pearl (Carnes) Bryan. He passed away Monday, February 9, 2009 at Mercy Hospice in Johnston. Charles served in the United States Army during the Korean War until his honorable discharge in 1955. On June 21, 1952 Charles and Dorothy (Hartley) were united in marriage. Charles was a member of Highland Park Christian Church where he served as deacon for many years as well as being involved in other church activities. He enjoyed fishing, golf and NASCAR. Charles is survived by his loving wife, Dorothy; his son, Larry (Diane) Bryan; and his grandchildren, Ben and Keith Bryan. Graveside Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, February 12, 2009 at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m., Wednesday, February 11, 2009 at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Ave., Des Moines. Memorial Contributions may be made to Mercy Hospice in Johnston or Highland Park Christian Church in loving memory of Charles.
