The Life of JANET PHIPPS
Janet Phipps, 77, died Wednesday, November 25, 2009, at Kavanagh House Hospice in Des Moines. She was born on September 17, 1932, in Adel, Iowa, to Lloyd and Genieve (Chapman) Conant.
Janet loved knitting, crocheting, reading, vacationing, and was an avid sports fan. She was also an active member of the Westkirk Presbyterian Church choir.
Janet is survived by her two sons, Doug (Casey) Phipps and Jeff (Suzie) Phipps; a daughter, Debra (John) Frondle; six grandchildren, Brian, Ashley, Alexandria, Richie, Candace, and Meredith; two great-granddaughters, Tiera and Lillian; one great-grandson, Turner; and a sister, Mary Ann Hamilton of Salt Lake City, Utah.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard, and a grandson, Rodney Bennett.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 am, Tuesday, December 1, 2009, at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue, Des Moines. Burial will follow at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery. A visitation with the family present will be from 5-7 pm, Monday, November 30, 2009, at the funeral home.
