The Life of MARY EILEEN COOK
Mary E. Cook, 89, of Des Moines passed away on September 18, 2008. At Mary’s request she will be cremated and a memorial service will be held at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home at 10 A.M. Monday with burial of the cremains following at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery. The family will greet friends 1 hour prior to the services on Monday. Mary retired after 35 years of work in food service for the Des Moines Independent School District. She enjoyed reading, cooking, baking, listening to big band music, dancing and spending time with her family. She is survived by her son George H. (Patricia) Cook of St. Louis, her daughter Judy Cook of Des Moines, her brother Earl McNerney of Thornton, Colorado, 6 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, 3 great, great grandchildren as well as many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents Julia and Peter McNerney, sister Dorothy Hankins, daughter Gerry L. Brooks and son Carl R. Cook.
